Greenwich students present Sound research

January 6th, 2012

Eastern Middle School seventh- and eighth-graders presented their research on the diversity of animals and their habitats in the Long Island Sound at Town Hall Wednesday.

As part of a 10-week afterschool program, the students worked with educators from Stamford-based SoundWaters in its Coastal Science Investigation program. The students came up with their own research questions, dissected a squid, and took trips to Greenwich Point and Cove Island Park in Stamford.

At left, students Charlotte Lorthioir, left, and Isabel Martin talk about water-sampling methods that they learned from SoundWaters.
