Summer Sails aboard the Schooner SoundWaters; Ages 7 and up

Sail aboard the Schooner SoundWaters with your summer program. The 80' Schooner SoundWaters will take your summer program on an exciting journey on Long Island Sound. Children will have tons of fun working together to raise sails, haul in the trawl net, examine live creatures, and feel the thrill of steering a 3-masted 32-ton vessel powered only by the wind.

Life Science on the Sound: Floating Classroom; Grades 2-5

Discover Long Island Sound's ecology and biology while sailing aboard the Schooner SoundWaters. Your students will investigate how plants and animals survive daily environmental changes, examine macro and microscopic organisms, raise the sails and more! This 3-hour program offers a fun hands-on learning experience geared to grade levels that exceeds CT and NY state core curriculum guidelines.

Physical Science on the Sound: Floating Classroom; Grades 6-9

Learn key concepts and theories while aboard the Schooner SoundWaters. Your students will test the water quality of Long Island Sound, demonstrate mechanical advantage, touch and investigate the structures of live animals and more! Specifically designed to exceed the CT and NY state core curriculum for middle schools, this 3-hour science enrichment sail is an unforgettable learning experience for you and your students in grades 6-9

Adventure on the Sound; Grades 9-12

Students will learn to work as a team, discover the leader within themselves, understand a new meaning of community, and experience adventure within a safe environment. Adventure on the Sound is a 3 day, 2 night program for school groups aboard the Schooner SoundWaters. This program offers groups of 15-20 students in 9th-12th grade a unique opportunity for personal growth.
