Throughout this interactive program children will explore how animals move, survive, grow and connect in their aquatic or terrestrial habitat and discover the unique characteristics of the Long Island Sound watershed.

SoundKids is a series of four-week science literacy programs to introduce 3-5 year olds to nature and science through hands-on activities. The goal of the program is to raise awareness of broad science themes and our natural world locally and globally. SoundKids emphasizes that science is a key element of school readiness.

SoundKids program Example:

Animal: Live Horseshoe Crab

  • Examine the external anatomy of a horseshoe crab.
  • Identify parts and connect to the human body
  • Compare form and function

Art: Create your very own Horseshoe Crab
