home summer programs adventure on the soundAdventure on the Sound August 1 - 3 Conquer new heights and have the journey of a lifetime with our Adventure on the Sound Summer program. Spend three days and two nights exploring Long Island Sound on an 80’ schooner and camping out on a deserted island. Adventure on the Sound is a three-day, two-night program aboard the Schooner SoundWaters that offers teens ages 13 -15 a unique opportunity for personal growth. During the program students will learn to work as a team, discover the leader within themselves, understand a new meaning of community and experience adventure within a safe environment, aboard the schooner SoundWaters and on Sheffield Island, home of the historic Sheffield Island Lighthouse (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge. SoundWaters Adventure on the Sound program provides students with critical leadership and team building skills, an opportunity to experience their local environment and multiple ways to learn in a non-competitive setting. Through Adventure on the Sound, students grow personally, improve communication skills, learn to think more deeply about their natural environment and achieve a higher level of solidarity. We teach leadership through experience while fostering an educational and fun environment. Teambuilding and Leadership
