Human Tide Line Project

in Celebration of Earth Day

On Saturday, April 24, 2010, a Human Tide Line will be drawn in Stamford, CT to illustrate what may happen to the Stamford coastline if we fail to reverse the course of climate change.

On that day, hundreds of area residents will gather in Stamford's Cove Island Park to mark the high tide line that is projected to occur due to rising sea levels, unless we individually and collectively take action to reverse the course of climate change.

The Human Tide Line will begin forming at 1:30pm in front of the SoundWaters Coastal Center located in Cove Island Park.

A beach clean-up will follow the Human Tide Line event for those interested.

At 3:00pm a round-table discussion will be held at the SoundWaters Coastal Center about what steps are being taken in Stamford to address global warming in the fields of transportation, energy consumption, and green building.

From 12:00pm to 4:00pm the SoundWaters Coastal Center will be open with environmental exhibits, live animals, and a range of practical steps that you can take in order to become a part of the solution to global warming. The SoundWaters Coastal Education Center is located in Cove Island Park.

Make your mark in the sand by joining together with other community members to call attention to this global environmental crisis and help turn the tide on climate change!
